Cursor

An agent-assisted development environment that can inspect and edit project files. [C2]

Primary purpose

Cursor provides an agent that can work on a project through file search, edits and terminal tools rather than only returning a text suggestion. [C2] Suggested workflow: ask it to explain existing input validation, fix one boundary case and inspect the diff. This is an editorial workflow suggestion; the outcome was not tested. The CLI provides a separate path for terminal and CI workflows. [C9] Hobby is free with limits. Monthly individual list prices are USD 20 for Pro, USD 60 for Pro+ and USD 200 for Ultra; Teams Standard is USD 40/user and Premium USD 120/user. Enterprise has custom pricing. These are not local checkout/tax totals; Start is a separate India-only plan. Included model pools, additional usage and the business third-party model surcharge are separate from the subscription price; no exact included quota is promised. [C1][C4][C7] API access here means the Cloud Agents API: keys allow agent/run management, not free raw access to every model. Eligibility and quotas for every account were not verified. [C5] Desktop supports macOS/Windows/Linux; web agents and a plan-dependent iOS/iPadOS app are available. Mobile is distinct from the desktop editor; the documentation lists the iOS app in English and Android as planned. [C3][C8]

Editorial strengths

File operations and command execution in one agent workflow allow a larger change to be approached through smaller tasks. [C2] Cloud Agents API can support automation, while the mobile app can support remote supervision; these are distinct surfaces. [C5][C8] This is not a measured claim of faster development.

Limitations

Because agents can change files and run commands, the recommended workflow includes diff review, testing and version control. A subscription does not make all model usage unlimited. [C4] Model availability can depend on region; an available Android app was not verified. [C7][C8] Do not claim equal Turkish and Spanish support across every feature.

Who it is for

A candidate for developers who can review code changes and want help with fixes, refactoring or small features in an existing project. Automatic merging without understanding the code is not recommended. These are editorial suitability recommendations.

Privacy and data handling

Privacy Mode documents protection against training use of code. AI context is still sent to providers; Cloud Agents require repository storage and some models have retention exceptions. Review the chosen feature and model together before using sensitive repositories. [C6]
